No Need To Miss Your Flight

Forest Gump believed that Life is like a box of chocolates, because you never know what you will get. However Forest wasn’t the brightest bulb on the porch, his was a character that if you stood close to him, you could actually hear the ocean. Life is more like taking a trip on a commercial airline carrier. When you show up at the airport, in order to get to your destination you have to check in. Not only do you have to check in, you have to declare where you are going. If you don’t check in and make that declaration, even though you are at the airport, you don’t go anywhere.

Checking in and making your declaration is what you’re doing with your journal and scrap book. Most people spend all their lives at the airport, never checked in, then at sixty five they declare, “This is not where a wanted to be.” Checking in is simple and it’s easy, for God’s sake, better yet, for your sake, please check in. You Will See It When You Believe It

You Will See It When You Believe It.

In the movie, ‘What the Bleep!? Down the Rabbit Hole’ a scientist stated that the brain process 400 billion bits of information per second, (Good God from Zion, that’s a lot!) but we are only aware of 2,000 bits. So the brain has to decide what is important, and allow that information to be filtered to the conscious mind. It also has to decide what is not really relevant and send that information to the sub-conscious mind.

How is the brain able to make such a distinction? Well, we tell it what’s important by our words and our beliefs. Here’s an interesting example, let’s assume that a woman grew up in an environment where her father was abusive to her mom. He was constantly unfaithful and made no attempts to hide his infidelity. Let’s further assume that this little girl would over hear her mom complaining to other women that men are basically no good and the other women would always validate her mom’s point. This young girl starts dating only to find that her boyfriend has been unfaithful, so she subconsciously develops a belief system that ALL men are dogs. Continue Reading »

My Past Keeps Kicking My Ass

I wrote this poem about a decade ago in the attempts to examine why it is so difficult for me to let go and allow myself to love, and be loved. In my next few blogs I’ll be dealing (in details) with the issue of how we allow our past to imprison our future happiness. I will also give you some tools to help break this wall that was constructed by fear. As usual, this is given with great love.

My Past Keeps Kicking My Ass

They say that a cow never knows
The use of its tail until he loses it,
And a fool, once he finds love,
Sure as hell abuses it!
Well, I be that fool, and I am that cow,
Because some way, somehow
I find “New and Improved” ways
To destroy the love that we’ve built,
Before you know it, I’m off to the next “Vic”
Leave you standing with the guilt.
I have you thinking that it was something you said
Or maybe even the things that you do,
When, in fact, a fool like me
Doesn’t deserve to be loved by you! Continue Reading »

What Does A Child Of God Look Like?

The Honorable Robert Nesta Marley (Bob Marley) had an unnerving habit of referring to “his” God as, “Jah Rastafari”. Jamaica’s Christian community immediately dismissed him to be of “The Devil”. They said that his “end” would be bitter and he would burn in hell for all eternity. After all, he had those “filthy”dreadlocks and cleanliness was next to Godliness. “No one that filthy could be of God” was the condemnation that came from church folks all across Jamaica.

But if anyone had ever taken a sample of Bob’s lyrics it would be crystal clear that this man was indeed of God. It would be obvious that this man embodied the consciousness of Christ. He just did not look like a “child of God”. But if memory serves me correctly (and I’m sure that it does) Jesus didn’t look much like a King of Kings either, and was pretty much chastised by the religious community of his day.

Here’s a small sample of Bob’s lyrics:

“We don’t need no more trouble, what we need is love.”
“Speak happiness, it’s sad enough without your woes.”
“I want to love you and treat you right.”
“Until the philosophy which holds one race superior and another inferior, is finally and totally discredited and abandoned, there will be war.” Continue Reading »

There’s a Method To This Genius

There’s a Method To This Genius

If you’ve been following my latest blog entries you’ll notice there’s a common theme that has been consistent for the past two weeks. All I’ve been writing about is, ‘YOU.’ Gently reminding YOU that you’re so much more than you’ve been told. The goal is to get you to take responsibility and control of what has been going on in your head. I’ve mostly written about thoughts and how they manifest.

What we’ve been doing is preparing the ground. This will ensure that when we move on to the next step of planting the seeds of greatness in this fertile soil, your harvest will be guaranteed.

For years I’ve invested tens of thousands of dollars in inspirational/motivational self-help products, trying to dig myself out of this emotional grave which I’ve created. I noticed that I was motivated while I was reading the book or attending the seminar, but a few days later the effects would fade. Continue Reading »
