You Will See It When You Believe It

You Will See It When You Believe It.

In the movie, ‘What the Bleep!? Down the Rabbit Hole’ a scientist stated that the brain process 400 billion bits of information per second, (Good God from Zion, that’s a lot!) but we are only aware of 2,000 bits. So the brain has to decide what is important, and allow that information to be filtered to the conscious mind. It also has to decide what is not really relevant and send that information to the sub-conscious mind.

How is the brain able to make such a distinction? Well, we tell it what’s important by our words and our beliefs. Here’s an interesting example, let’s assume that a woman grew up in an environment where her father was abusive to her mom. He was constantly unfaithful and made no attempts to hide his infidelity. Let’s further assume that this little girl would over hear her mom complaining to other women that men are basically no good and the other women would always validate her mom’s point. This young girl starts dating only to find that her boyfriend has been unfaithful, so she subconsciously develops a belief system that ALL men are dogs. Continue Reading »

What Does A Child Of God Look Like?

The Honorable Robert Nesta Marley (Bob Marley) had an unnerving habit of referring to “his” God as, “Jah Rastafari”. Jamaica’s Christian community immediately dismissed him to be of “The Devil”. They said that his “end” would be bitter and he would burn in hell for all eternity. After all, he had those “filthy”dreadlocks and cleanliness was next to Godliness. “No one that filthy could be of God” was the condemnation that came from church folks all across Jamaica.

But if anyone had ever taken a sample of Bob’s lyrics it would be crystal clear that this man was indeed of God. It would be obvious that this man embodied the consciousness of Christ. He just did not look like a “child of God”. But if memory serves me correctly (and I’m sure that it does) Jesus didn’t look much like a King of Kings either, and was pretty much chastised by the religious community of his day.

Here’s a small sample of Bob’s lyrics:

“We don’t need no more trouble, what we need is love.”
“Speak happiness, it’s sad enough without your woes.”
“I want to love you and treat you right.”
“Until the philosophy which holds one race superior and another inferior, is finally and totally discredited and abandoned, there will be war.” Continue Reading »

You Can’t Hide What’s Inside

Remember the wisdom of Anthony Robbins, “It is in the moment of decision that our destiny is decided.” It all boils down to the responsibility of choice. Simple, but again, not necessarily easy. How do you remain cool, calm and collected when some inconsiderate soul comes along just to test your faith? How do you maintain composure in the face of incompetence? And I’m not referring to biting your lips while your blood is boiling on the inside. No, that will do even more damage to your health. What I’m asking is how do you get to a place of peace where you’re not even irritated by the irrational? Continue Reading »

Suicide or Murder

Suicide or Murder
“Wherever the attention goes, the energy flows”
I don’t know who said that, I probably should have conducted a Google search, but why interrupt the creative process with formalities, after all the energy is flowing in this Blog right about now. My question today is this: How do we create the life that we want?

I remember when my son was much younger, he found no joy in brushing his teeth before he went to bed, so he asked, “Daddy why do I have to brush my teeth?” My response, “You don’t have to brush all of them baby, just brush the ones you want to keep, ignore the rest and they’ll go away!”

I believe that is the key to everything in life, give your attention to the things that you want to grow in your life and remove your attention from the things that you don’t want. It is that simple! Remember being in love (God I LOVE being in-love) or any new romantic relationship? Remember how all you did was think about that special someone? They consumed all of your thoughts and you would use up all your day-time minutes conversing with the joker, and your relationship blossomed and bloomed. During odd moments during your day they would cross your mind, and at that moment they would call or send an email. Your attention is the sunlight that causes everything to grow, remove your attention and the situation dies.

Remember how the relationship ended? Continue Reading »
