There’s a Method To This Genius

If you’ve been following my latest blog entries you’ll notice there’s a common theme that has been consistent for the past two weeks. All I’ve been writing about is, ‘YOU.’ Gently reminding YOU that you’re so much more than you’ve been told. The goal is to get you to take responsibility and control of what has been going on in your head. I’ve mostly written about thoughts and how they manifest.

What we’ve been doing is preparing the ground. This will ensure that when we move on to the next step of planting the seeds of greatness in this fertile soil, your harvest will be guaranteed.

For years I’ve invested tens of thousands of dollars in inspirational/motivational self-help products, trying to dig myself out of this emotional grave which I’ve created. I noticed that I was motivated while I was reading the book or attending the seminar, but a few days later the effects would fade.

The books and seminars would take the time to instruct me on how to achieve greatness, but what good was that if my self talk kept telling me that I was unworthy of greatness?
It was as though all these authors and seminar conductors were just planting seeds in a ground filled with weed. No one assisted me in preparing the field, they just assumed that if I’m attending motivational seminars, then obviously I MUST feel deserving of greatness. (This obviously wasn’t the case for me.)

Self doubt wears a lot of masks. It was only a year ago that I came to a point where I could listen to my own CD or watch my DVDs. In my mind, they weren’t good enough, though I had thousands of people telling me, “You’re amazing, oh my God, you changed my life!” It took a lot of quiet time and soul searching for me to realize that I was still carrying those feelings of unworthiness from my childhood. For years, whenever I bought home my test results and scored 98 or 99, I would proudly present my report to my dad and in a very disgusted and dismissive tone he would ask, “That’s it? 99? That’s the best you could do?” The closest grade next to mine would be in the low eighties, and even though the teachers celebrated my brilliance, it was my dad’s words that took root.

I just want you to know that working on yourself is a never ending process.
If you’re not vigilant, doubts and insecurities will seep back into your subconscious mind. So I’ll always revisit the idea of how powerful thoughts are, but in the next few weeks I’ll be giving you strategies on how to take your life, relationships and finances to the next level. If you’re committed to taking your life to the next level, as long as there is breath in my body, I will never leave you. This is my purpose!

Be gentle with yourself, you’re God’s greatest creation.
